Scarab Sweepers Ltd of Marden in Kent is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of road sweepers. Scarab Sweepers has always prided itself on being at the cutting edge of technology, incorporating the latest ideas and providing enhanced functionality for its customers. However new user requirements had brought about increasing complexity and the plethora of switches, relays and timers was bringing about a control nightmare.
Scarab turned to Zeta Automotive for a solution. Zeta Automotive proposed a highly flexible, user programmable CANbus system to control functionality and offer reliable, automatic and proportional control and still be a cost-effective solution. The Controlled Area Network Bus System is now used by all major truck chassis producers. It could therefore harmonise with other CAN bus systems in operation, to the great benefit of its customers. Zeta CANbus uses printed circuit boards to eliminate the mass of wiring, relays and fuses previously needed and vastly reduces the size of operator panel needed.
Zeta Automotive, in conjunction with Scarab Sweepers, were winners of The Vehicles and Plant Awards 2006 for Developments in New Technology - Vehicles in recognition of their innovative work with CANbus technology.
